Urvi's Handcrafted Soaps

My daughter suffered from eczema from a very young age. Khushi was born in the UK and she was so tiny that she was considered premature so the hospital delayed giving her vaccine injections for 4 weeks. As soon as they gave her the BCG vaccine she broke out in a rash all over her little body. We were told it was a reaction to the egg base of the vaccination. But it got worse. And permanent. The rash spread from her face, to her arms and chest to the rest of her body. We tried so many things over the course of the years, neem water baths, wet cool napkins, a variety of lotions and cremes but only the steroid creams worked. So they became a staple in our household.

When the eczema spread to her scalp and she started losing hair, I felt like I was falling into a black hole. I had to do something. I researched a lot on the internet, talked to all my friends and family and found quite a few mothers had this problem and their children responded well to natural products and homemade soaps as they are safe- they contain no chemicals, preservatives or any harsh ingredients. So I researched more. I studied brands like lush, body shop, dead sea products, rocky mountain soaps. I came up a formula and started making soaps. I just discovered my new passion. I absolutely love making them! I used my husband as a guinea pig. My first soaps were mashed up balls of weird light green stuff, yet I was so proud of them!

Our soaps are created from a nourishing balanced blend of virgin coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, palm oil and castor oil.

I kept myself busy being full time mum to Khushi and then my second bundle of joy, Janvi came along. As they were growing up, I wanted to do something more. I enjoy learning holistic healing and using it in my life. I regularly use Reiki and also do aromatherapy and make healing oils.

We moved to Dar Es Salaam bout a year and a half ago for school. And that’s when I met so many parents who had the same issues as we did. Khushis eczema not only receded but the amazing thing is there is no evidence of scarring on her skin.

This is when my brother and I decided to form the company Opulent Earth Tanzania Ltd and try and reach out to as many people as we can. We have had extraordinary results! Our soaps are created from a nourishing balanced blend of virgin coconut oil, extra-virgin olive oil, palm oil and castor oil.
